Setting Humidity - Wet Bulb
Temprature in Degrees F.
(Not Percent Humidity)

Regulate your incubator according to instructions, and let it run for approximately twenty-four hours, with one moisture pan in position and filled with water.

Remove the thermometer from it's position at the front of incubator, and insert it into the hole between the two adjusting screws. Take the wick supplied and cover one-half to two-thirds of the thermometer stem inside the incubator.. let the other end of the wick hang into the moisture pan so the wick will be wet. For most eggs, the wet bulb temparature reading will be 82F to 86F during incubation period, and 90F to 92F during the last three days.

Adjust for the initial reading by moving the vent slides on the back of the incubator-decrease the opening to increase wet bulb temprature (but not less than 1/4" opening). Increase the vent opening to decrese the wet bulb temparature.

After vents have been adjusted to provide the desired wet bulb temparature reading, move the temparature back to it's position at the front of incubator. Unless the incubator is moved to another location, you should never have to move the vents from their position. Adding the second moisture pan to the incubator for the last three days will provide the additional moisture needed at this time.

Note:Always use a clean wick to obtain wet bulb temparature readings, and check for the type of eggs you intend to set.

Additional Humidity Control

In some parts of country, and for the lower wet bulb reading required by some eggs, (such as Chukar, 82 wet bulb while they are being turned) it may be necessary to cover part of moisture pan with heavy duty aluminium foll. Tape the foll securely to the pan as shown. This will reduce the evaporative area of the pan and in turn, the humidity of the incubator. The amount of foll will depend on how little humidity required. If you have the 3030 Humidity tank attached, be sure the foll doesn't hold the float `in the open position.

After the hatch is complete, clean and dry the incubator, unless you are hatching on a continuous basis In that case, remove the second moisture pan, and replace the foll to reduce the wet bulb reading to the orignal point. Always use a clean wick and be sure of the humidity reqirements for the type of eggs you are hatching.
